Dear Narrative community,
After a lot of work and negotiations, all assets in Narrative, digital and physical, have been acquired by a group of people from the team of the former company. We have put years of our lives into Narrative and we’re committed to not seeing all the value we have created go away. We want to continue running the service, investigate if it’s possible to restart the production of Narrative Clip 2, and look for funding to achieve all of this.
We’re happy and proud to make as our very first announcement that the Narrative service will NOT shut down today. All the apps and software will stay functional and safe exactly as they have always been. However, in order to achieve this we will need to start charging a small monthly subscription fee for storage. We need to have a sustainable solution that is not depending on external financing to keep running. More information on how this will work is to come as soon as possible.
No data will be deleted on October 31st, but there will be 1-2 days of downtime while it’s being transferred to the new company. There’s a risk of further disruptions the coming weeks while necessary adjustments are made.
We’re financing the transition out of our own pockets and we’re doing this because we’re enthusiastic about Narrative. Unfortunately, it’s not possible for us to assume all the obligations of the former company. There is a small number of customers to the former company that have seen problems with their Clips. We can’t resolve any of those cases today, but we’ll try to find ways to offer repairs or other kinds of help, and hope to be able to provide information about this down the line.
Hopefully you share our great relief that Narrative has been saved! We hope we can pull together a tight community around Narrative that share our enthusiasm. Our commitment is real. If we intended to walk away from Narrative, we would have already done so. Saving Narrative required us to spend a lot of hard work and money. We want to keep developing the product and service, but keep in mind that our resources today are very slim. We can only do this with your friendly help and support.
We want to hear from YOU about how you think Narrative should go forward. It’s an open road from here, and we’d like you to journey with us.
Thank you,
The New Narrative Team.

I Was Thinking About Buying One And I’m So Relived That The Service Is Not Shutting Down
hi, i have bought a new narrative clip 2 before but i felt that it not suitable for me and i wish to sell it. are u interesting? pls contact me: ivan_chieng@hotmail.com. thanks!
I am liking my narrative more and more, and understand cost of cloud storage, and thus willing to pay. This camera is a blast. Price should be reasonable to actual cost of cloud storage, hopefully less than Apple icloud price.
The product is great and the clip 2 free leaps and bounds over the first. I would not mind a small subscription for the “moments”, but I would also like an easier way to download the good photos from those “moments”. The idea and the team behind this are great. Please keep this going. I am not sure your status on the production line, but if you start off with a 6 month service included and then charge $2-3.99 per month how many subscribers would you need?
So, when will this product be avialable again?
Is there a definitive plan to resume production and sales?
Hi, i am looking for contacting a member of the new Narrative team please.
Great cam to use as a “capture net” during the day as a video diary. Its the reason I bought my GOPRO but cant quite use it this way. But Q is if its always recording
on-the-go how to select the few key moments you really want quickly
& min HD space? The 230Euro clip stores how much on what
card/format?
Good luck startup guys! Youre on the right journey 🙂

Hi, this is really great news. I’m a researcher in Media Communications in Brazil and I trying to understand many new implications of cameras like this. I first started with Google Glass and now with Narrative. I’ve gave my Narrative to my students to spend some time and try to collect experiences. I’m happy to share with you in the near future.
But one of the many uses that I see is to peoplo who suffer from mennory illness. A photo of commons routines could be very helpful. For these I think we need to permanently connected to the phone or smart watch.
I have a narrative 2 but suddenly the bluetooth is not connecting to my iphone 7
Hi guys,
is there any update on status? How is everything?
What’s the word? I’d love to buy a Narrative Clip and pay for your service…
hi, i have bought a new narrative clip 2 before, but i felt that it not get used on it and i want to sell it. Are you interested in buying it? please contact me: ivan_chieng@hotmail.com. thanks!
You haver clip 2 still for sale? I am interest it.
yes, still with me right now. It for sale actually. Please email me for more information. Thanks! ivan_chieng@hotmail.com
Hi, I wrote to your email. Thanks.
I did not receive your email.
I’d like to see if it can help me in our research. Does it record audio as well as video/photos?
I am perfectly happy with paying for cloud storage. The accelerometer and geotagging functions mean the most to me.
Checking in here. seems like the app works on my mac and iPhone. had boxed it up. actually was so small i misplaced it. And now happy to re-ignite usage of it.
Why is there no new posting about the maintenance going on right now, and the new Terms of Service? This was announced via email a couple of days ago.
Hi – I’m from a scientific research team based in London, looking to buy as many Narrative Clip 2s as possible – as part of our project involves baby-lifelogging. If anyone has any clip2s that they are looking to sell, please get in touch as we absolutely need them as soon as possible! Would be deeply appreciated. Celia
Hi What did you end up using?
Hi Celia, are you still looking to buy a Narrative Clip 2?
Is there any way I can get the lanyard that I never received w/ my Clip 2? I’d even buy it if it’s available for sale.
If you make a Narrative Clip 3, please please please give it a place for a split ring and a bungie or other tether! My CLip 2 went for a motorcycle ride with my souse today. They might have been fun photos but we’ll never know, because the “clip” wasn’t strong enough and the Clip is now somewhere between here and… there… never to be heard from again.
Given that the photos only upload when the Clip is plugged in and connected to WiFi, we can’t even ask it when it came off.
🙁
As a researcher, I experiented with many other wearable cameras, Narrative Clip 2 was BY FAR the best, most reliable and better designed of all of them.
I wonder if is there any more room to make it smaller and with wider vertical and horizontal viewing angle. High resolution was never that important, specially for us working with neural networks and computer vision.
I hope you guys find a way to find fundings and move on.
I’m going to make my own.
There is a Kickstarter going on for a product that looks almost exactly like yours. It’s called streamcam. They had a good marketing point of selling to protesters as body cameras so their side of incidents were captured on video. Perhaps your company could do the same. Basically a body cameras for protesters or other groups who are at odds with the police frequently.
Hi, is any something new about Narrative Clip 2 after year? Thank you very much for your answer.
Hallo narrative community,
Maybe someone has any ideas: when I connect my clip 1 to the computer it says loading 1500 files and then it keeps freezing….using computer storage
Any ideas welcome😔
I have a Narrative clip 1 for sale. Tweet me if you are interested: @samwarnaars
It’s been a long time since change of ownership. Over a year and no new news.
Is there an estimated time for getting new narrative devices? (I lost mine.)
